FEATURE INTERVIEW – THE SCARLET REBELS

August was quite a month for The Scarlet Rebels – we called their new album ‘Show Your Colours’ as our ‘Album of the Month’ – and days later around 3,000 people voted the band as listener choice ‘Band of the Month’ in a 48-hour snap poll. We’ve never had a band win both in the same month and this says something about the natural and grassroots enthusiasm that is building on this band. They seem to shy away from the hype machine, but good songwriting and live performance tend to speak for themselves. This is the first of two audio features I did on the band in August 2019. This interview was recorded at Wildfire Festival, and Wayne talks about the countdown to the debut album landing, the Welsh music scene in general and the band’s plans for the year ahead.
