Feature interview #279 in the ongoing series. Going back to July 2017, the original audio from a Great Music Stories hour special, featuring Tarot Rats and Empyre after their live show in Tunbridge Wells. The Rats talked about new recording plans and our fun in the studio – and Empyre reflect on the growing popularity of their own take on a classic Bond cover, which had a big run on the Friday rockshow. The Empyre interview here followed shortly after their two audio interviews with GMS from Wildfire Festival in June 2017. Both bands went on to have albums of the month, be voted band of the month multiple times – and Empyre finished 2023 bagging our Album of the Year. This interview from 2017 captures a moment from the early days of both bands.
