FROM THE 10 YEAR ARCHIVE: MASSIVE WAGONS AT STONE FREE – JUNE 2017

Feature interview #232 in the ongoing series. A delightful blast from the past from our 2016 Band of the Year and an act we put a serious shift in for on the rockshow – Massive Wagons. A year on from the release of ‘Welcome To The World’ the band appeared at the Stone Free Festival at London’s O2 Arena in the summer of 2017. After their set, I interviewed each member of the band on a scorching hot summer’s day. Barry had to head home early that day, so we spoke a week later on the phone that that audio has been added here so it’s a full set of five interviews. Following the huge and sustained rockshow reaction to Tokyo and Ratio – both songs premiered on the rockshow in January 2016 – Back to the Stack followed and was arguably the band’s breakthrough song that became a hit on national airwaves in early 2017. This interview captures a moment in time for the band that was on the up and on the cusp of something big. These 2017 interviews were originally aired on my rock show as a series over five consecutive weeks, but here they can be enjoyed as one full feature.
