For the ninth calendar year, we kicked off 2023 with our New Horizons series – a series of more than 70 artist interviews shorts – giving each act an opportunity to discuss hopes, plans and dreams for the year ahead. A small selection of these interviews have been added here for listen again, together they represent and interesting moment in time to hear about band plans and to offer some positivity at a grey time of year.
Here, Matt talks about the countdown to the release of new album ‘Upstairs to Optimism’ which went on to become our Album of the Month for April. Matt and Saxon have crafted a run of songs that have been listener faves on Friday nights for more than two years, the band will feature on Modern Rock Vol 5 – and the fine songs will no doubt feature again when I return to the airwaves in the months ahead.
