For our annual awards we always recognise a local grassroots band. Amongst Liars started just before Covid struck and, despite the challenges of lockdown, their first four singles dominated the airwaves with us in 2020. Once voted band of the month during 2020 and Top 10 in our final bands of the year countdown, the band has also engaged with listeners on Friday nights and always put their hands up for interviews, our specials and both our summer festivals. In doing so, they have won hearts and minds – and their music evokes the sound of a modern rock band.
