You just can’t argue with a song that’s had a 40 consecutive show run on my Friday rock show (breaking the previous record of 19 weeks). Good songs get pushed hard by pluggers – but the great ones have a life of their own – it’s as if there’s a magic chemistry within the song that connects with people. 2019 was a year of so many fine songs, but my rock show listeners made Single of the Year a one-horse race for 2019.
