Band of the Year 2022
It’s time once again to start the search for our 8th annual Band of the Year. Below is a list of all the bands that have featured on our band of the month votes for the last year, and everyone’s in for this final vote. The artists that have given us interviews or taken part in our tribute specials over the year make the rather long short-list.
Band of the Year will be based on votes from all the monthly votes over the last year, and it’s structured to ensure bands of all sizes have a fair chance to shine. On this Friday’s rockshow, all the details will be shared on how Band of the Year works, which is the same as previous years. Tune in Friday from 5pm for all the info.
A note on the list before you cast your vote. The bands are broadly listed alphabetically. For bands beginning with ‘the’ we go straight in with the band name. So, for example, The Dust Coda is listed under D as ‘Dust Coda.’ Artists that are the name of a person are listed by Christian name – so, for example, Toby Jepson is listed under ‘T.’
You can cast up to three votes. Pleased read the list fully before casting your votes. On this Friday’s rock show we will run through all the bands on the list, and next Friday (11th) we’ll reveal the 40 acts that are still in it.
To all the artists on this list, a big thank you for giving time for interviews this last year and helping to make Friday nights special for music fans and rockshow listeners around the country.
